Some interesting thoughts on this song, as I didn’t know what it meant or was about when I first had heard this years ago, Kate wrote this song especially for a scnee in the film ‘She’s Having A Baby’, where a man is waiting helplessly in a hospital while his wife gives birth in the next room. The song is from the man’s point of view as he worries about his loved one. She actually recorded the song to match the visuals in the film, but it turned out to be one of her most celebrated works on its own. It is available on the 1989 album ‘The Sensual World’.

This song makes me think of the discussion on dysfunctional disrespectful abusive relationships…… I have been victim in abusive relationships that have been physical, emotional, mental, verbal & life threatening. I know how difficult it is to get out of a relationship when you are too scared of the consequences of leaving. I had to go to therapy groups to become strong enough to be able to have the courage to do it…..
Praying for all of my Angel Friends who are not yet strong enough to get out of the destructive relationship they are in…. Life is too short to live unhappily, unloved and abused…..
